Grand Iftar Banquet - Ramadan 2013

Tamilnadu Muslim Cultural Association (TMCA) hosted a large and traditional Grand Iftar Banquet (Ramadan 2013) which was held on Friday, the 26th Jul-2013 from 4:30 pm in Kuwait Teachers Society, Dasma, Kuwait. H.E Shri Satish Chand Mehta, Ambassador of India to Kuwait was the Chief Guest of this grand event along with our Special Guest, Moulavi Abdul Basith Bukhari, young and energetic Islamic scholar from Chennai and many more high level dignitaries from different communities adorned this program. This Event was main sponsored by M/s. TVS  Travel & Cargo Services and M/s. Najlaa International General Trading & Contracting Co., and Co-sponsored by M/s. Al-Yasra Food Co. Around 800 brothers attended the Iftar and graced the function.

The program started at 4:30 p.m with recitation of the Holy Quran and its translation by Master Jassim Jahir Hussain (10th Std. Student, Indian National School, Mangaf). Br. Shahul Hameed, Treasuerer, TMCA initiated the program and staged Master of ceremony. Br. Abdul Rahim, General Secretary, welcomed all the attendees and special guests.

Our Special Guest, Moulavi Abdul Basith Bukhari was nicely introduced by Br. Karaikal S.M. Arif Maricar, Chief Media Secretary, TMCA and Moulavi delivered special address on the topic: Social Unity, highlighting the importance of preserving and maintaining social unity and solidarity among our Ummah citing historical events and true teachings of Islam and sunnah.

Brother Shahul Hameed (Treasurer-TMCA) briefly summed-up activities of TMCA in English requesting whole-hearted support to TMCA’s Education programs towards literary advancement encouraging the attendees to enroll as members of TMCA.

Br. Mukhtar Marouf, President, Federation of Indian Muslim Associations (FIMA) attended our program as one of our special guests.

H.E Shri Satish Chand Mehta, Ambassador of India, Kuwait was the Chief Guest and delivered his esteemed oratory felicitating this grand Iftar program appreciating TMCA’s activities to community welfare and he explained in details various follow-up actions taken by the Embassy during and aftermath of recent security crack-down on expats to the protection and welfare of Indian community as a whole.  Amidst this situation, a special and long meeting TMCA held with our Ambassador on 09th July and followed by a mass circulation of our Newsletter to the benefit of our Tamil speaking community was re-called soliciting our further support in the near future which we gladly accepted.

Abdul Rahim, our Education Secretary nicely conducted Momento Presentation Ceremony briefly who called on H.E Shri Satish Chand Mehta, Ambassador of India, to present Memento honouring our Main Sponsors - Br. Rasheed Khan, Son-in-Law of Br. TVS Hyder Ali, Chairman received on behalf of M/s. TVS Cargo & Travels Co., and Br. Shahul Hameed, TMCA Treasurer received on behalf of M/s. Najlaa International General Trading & Contracting Co., and Br. Hidayatullah, Secretary-Events Co-ordination, received on behalf of our Co-Sponsor, M/s. Al-Yasra Food Co., in the presence of TMCA Executive committee.
 
On behalf of TMCA, H.E Shri Satish Chand Mehta, Ambassador of India honoured by presenting memento to Koothanallur Br. Yousef Shaik Maideen (Joint Secretary of TMCA), Sholapuram Br. Nisar Ahamed (Media Secretary of TMCA) and Br. Maharoof Muhammad Farook - (Well-wisher)  for their exceptional services and support to TMCA in the presence of TMCA EC.

On behalf of TMCA, H.E Shri Satish Chand Mehta, Ambassador of India  presented our visiting Special Guest  Moulavi Abdul Basith Bukhari in appreciation of his excellent Symposium on Education, Ramadhan – a month of success and Social Unity.

Finally, Br. Hidayathullah (Secretary-Events Co-ordination) delivered Vote of thanks. He expressed sincere gratitude for all the participants and the Chief Guests.  Iftar Banquet and Dinner was served to everyone and this program was once again most professional and memorable one, as observed from its attendees.
